Rebel Forces

In short, the Rebel Forces is the official name for the Western Continent's military forces, and the military force which has a major base in Orange Star City.

History

The Rebel Forces first referred to the name of a Private Military Company, or PMC, established long before the great war by two soldiers, Ryusho Takayama, a former JSDF soldier,  and Alexander McNeill, a US Special Forces Soldier. Its initial mission was to "provide security against high-risk threats and situations" for its clients.

However, sometime during their existance, they were targeted by one of the world's governments as a "high-risk", "terrorist" threat. The Rebel Forces then did truly turn into an army like their name, and became a rebel militia designed to take down in any way possible, a corrupted government. For many years they fought this way. It was during this time period that Matthew and Keegan Barton joined the Rebel Forces.  They were also a force that contributed to the beginning of what is known as the Great War, when all the governments in the world were in a battle against not only the Rebel Forces, but against each other.

After the Great War, the Rebel Forces were reformulated into an army that was similar to a conventional fighting force- their primary mission was to keep the peace in the Western Continent, and provide support to other armies around the globe. They still operate in this way today.

Organization

The Rebel Forces are divided into three primary groups- Ground Group, Air Group, and Marine Group.

Ground Group: Provides ground forces and support such as Infantry, Armor, Military Intelligence, Military Police, Medical, etc,etc. The majority of the Rebel Forces' troops are organized in this division. Ground based Special Forces are also organized in this division, including the infamous 7th SFG "Spades".

Air Group: Provides air and space forces such as strike planes, mech strike forces, space fighters, as well as the necessary support groups including space-based military intelligence, refueling, air-based intelligence, etc,etc.   Air-based Special Forces are also organized in this division, as well as there are several "Special Forces" classified strike squadrons.

Marine Group: Provides mobile sea and sea based support and forces such as any sea fighters and ships, marine forces, etc. Marine special force groups, or "Recon Groups" are organized in this division.

The exact numbers of the Rebel Forces are not truely known, but all three of these groups in theory, form a very formidable army capable of defending and providing support to the rest of the globe in both peace and war time.
